It's kind of funny, but did you know there are some RVers who just don't use some of the valuable features of their rigs? Maybe it's akin to having their stuff wrapped up in shrink wrap, and they're somehow afraid to cut the wrap lose and let the good things they have get to work for them.
What kinds of features are there, that for some inexplicable reason, aren't used?

The Shower: It's kind of hard for us to believe, but some RVers don't use the shower as a shower, but often for a soft of extra storage closet. Some won't stay anywhere but at an RV park with shower facilities, so they can jump out of bed, put on a robe and flip-flops, and paddle across the ground in the cold (hot, wind, excessive crowds, snow, sleet, etc) so they can shower in some unknown value of cleanliness (or dirtyness as the case may be).
We'll be up-front. We do use our RV shower as a sort of extra storage closet, too. We keep the dirty clothes basket in there, along with a few gallon jugs of drinking water, and a large container of kitty food. And we're not adverse to hanging damp clothing in there to let it drip out. But when it's time for a shower, we'd much rather step into our own water-spraying-cubical, on our own schedule, and in our own private way, and get clean.
In the Kitchen: When we bought a well-used truck camper, we were amazed at just how clean the oven was. Fact is, the thing hardly looked like the pilot light had been lit, much less were there any traces of boiled over casseroles or overbaked TV dinners. We do hear that some, again, do use their RV oven as a handy place to stick extra pans (just what they do with a pan isn't clear), or even foodstuffs. But use it to cook food?
Maybe this is where some RV manufacturers get the idea that they don't need to include an oven in their RV lineup. "Just give 'em a microwave oven and a couple of gas rings, they'll be fine," seems to be the party line from the design teams. Microwave ovens are fine, but they lack the home fire quality that not only cooks the food, warms the rig on a cold day, and wafts desirable scents into the nostrils of the family.
And it if that's not weird enough, there are some, who from the looks of it, not only skip using the oven, they also forsake the microwave oven. What, one wonders, do folks like these eat? Tinned sardines and Ritz crackers? Gorp? Are of they all stuck with "out to eat" meals with financial outlays that would put a crimp in the fuel bill?
Maybe this story is just an editorial rant. We can't offer you anything more practical than a suggestion of: Just use it. If you've got the feature, at least, try it out. You might find you actually enjoy basking in your own shower water, and eating a meal cooked in your own galley. It might just broaden your road trip perspective.
