Timesharing
Why many RVers are attracted to Thousand Trails Camping
By Art Evans

Thousand Trails is one of the most popular membership private campgrounds in America. With the shared resources of the NACO and Leisure Time Resorts (TTNLTR) systems, Thousand Trail's 50+plus preserves are considered among the most desireable campgrounds in the country. Each offers a mix of resort-style amenities and outdoor recreation.

RVers who travel a lot and like to stay in clean, secure and scenic places are attracted to the Thousand Trails program, often spending a few weeks at one preserve then moving on to another, exploring the local activities and attractions in each area.

Preserves typically include swiming pools, hiking trails, lodges, lakes, basketball and tennis courts, laundry facilities and other amenities depending upon each's location. At some preserves, members can fish in private lakes. Others have regular entertainment, which may include barbecues and even live music performances.

Each campsite is outfitted with electricity and water hookups, a picnic table and grill. Sewer hookups are available at many sites as well. All Thousand Trails campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Anyone who is interested in joining Thousand Trails will be hosted for free for three nights and four days at most preserves. Thousand Trails is banking, of course, that the visit will enjoy the experience and sign up. To make a reservation, call 1-800-205-0606.

Fees to join vary, and it is best to contact Thousand Trails directly for the exact figures. Memberships are also available directly from current members, who choose to no longer remain a part of the organization.
