Where to buy parts and accessories for new or used recreational vehicles By Chuck Woodbury, editor Every RV needs parts. Where to find them is generally easy in a metropolitan area, but may be difficult in rural areas. The best bet for one-stop shopping for RV parts and accessories is Camping World, a national chain of 30 stores in 18 states. Camping World is sort of the "Wal-Mart" of RV products and accessories. If a Camping World is not nearby, then the best bet for parts and accessories is a local RV parts store or perhaps, even better, an RV dealer. Dealers usually stock a large inventory of parts for the makes and models of RVs they sell. Very large RV dealers may also have onsite stores that rival those of Camping World. Local RV parts stores range from small mom and pop operations to very large superstores that, once again, may rival Camping World in their selection of parts and accessories. RVers in rural areas without a nearby store often find shopping on the Internet the best way to buy RV accessories and replacement parts. Camping World sells just about anything and everything RV through its catalog which can be ordered from its website. Campers Choice is another option. The Alabama-based company offers a full line of RV supply and accessories either from its website camperschoice.com or through its free catalog. To receive the catalog, call 1-800-833-6713. Folding camping trailer owners who need parts for their popup RVs may want to check with their dealer first. Dealers should have just about every part that's needed for the trailers they sell. Most RV parts stores stock inventory for all types of RVs motorhomes, folding camping trailers (pop up trailers), and travel trailers. Prices at most RV stores will be pretty much the same. Camping World, however, will likely be the best source for discount parts.
