Motorhome owners, whether they are novices or veterans, will benefit from reading the new book "Drive your Motorhome Like a Pro" by RVer and professional bus driver Lorrin Walsh. The book details basic mechanics of maneuvering, what to do before you start, driving situations, braking, and the mind set needed to be a safe driver. The author, a veteran RVer, is a trainer and driver for Gray Line Tours of Seattle. He is currently on a seven-month promotional tour of the East Coast driving a 45-foot motor coach.

"When I started driving for Gray Line I thought I knew a lot about driving a large RV," said Walsh. "Then I learned how much I didn't know."

Today, Walsh meets RVers who drive large motorhomes who lack basic driving skills. "If someone is driving a vehicle that would require a license if it were commercial, then I think that person should have some sort of training," he said.

A few years ago, as Walsh searched for information to pass along to RVers about driving, he found there was nothing available. And so he put together a Power Point presentation that he first used in his Gray Line training seminars and later modified to write his new book, the only one available about driving a motorhome.

"Without some form of training or at least some reading to help learn the thought process, then there is a serious danger of problems, especially with big rigs," he says.

"Drive your Motorhome Like A Pro" is available at RVbookstore.com.
